The 2027 GLE is the Mercedes-Benz SUV that sits a step below the GLS, which carries three rows as standard. It comes two ways: the GLE SUV and the GLE Coupe. Every version in the current lineup on mbusa.com is all-wheel drive and electrified in some form, from the mild-hybrid four- and six-cylinder engines to the plug-in AMG GLE 53 HYBRID and the V8 AMG GLE 63 S with hybrid assist. It suits a buyer who wants room for five, a 7,700-lb towing rating and the option of a third row on the GLE 450, without moving up to a GLS.

What changed for 2027

  • Redesigned front end: headlamps with a twin Star motif, a larger grille with an illuminated Star framed in chrome, and new-generation DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps with micro-LED technology available. [9]
  • The MBUX Superscreen with three 12.3-inch glass displays is standard on the GLE SUV and GLE Coupe, running fourth-generation MBUX with an AI-based voice assistant. [9]
  • The GLE moves to the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), and driver assistance is now branded MB.DRIVE, with MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST and optional MB.DRIVE ASSIST and MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO. [9]
  • The GLE 350 gets a more powerful electric auxiliary compressor and the GLE 450 a new electric auxiliary compressor. [9]
